Homelessness is on the rise across the United States. There is an unfortunate stigma attached to it, but we desire to help you, and so do the resources we have listed on this page. Please consider contacting some of these to receive critical supplies and find temporary shelter from the elements.

Fresh Start (Sweetwater)

Fresh Start is a benevolence organization focused on providing food, clothing, sleeping bags, and tents for the homeless in Monroe County. Their phone number is (423)-271-8360. They are based out of Sweetwater, Tennessee.

Homeless Management of Monroe County (HMMC)

The HMMC (Homeless Management of Monroe County) offers assistance to the homeless in Monroe County. They have four micro houses available. Two of these homes are in Tellico Plains and two are in Sweetwater. There is a waiting list to enter these houses. Please call (270)-705-2914 to be placed on this waiting list. These homes are available for individuals or families.

Family Promise

Family Promise offers temporary shelter for individuals and families in need. They are based out of Maryville, Tennessee. They can be reached at (865)-233-4737.

Shelter-My-Sheep

Shelter-My-Sheep offers temporary shelter for individuals or families in need in Tellico Plains, Tennessee. It is intended to be transitional housing, so the maximum stay is 28 days. They offer other services in coordination with the Homeless Management of Monroe County. They can be reached at (423)-253-2303.
